Abrazo Homes Ranked New Mexico’s Top Small Workplace
Two thumbs up to recent great news from Abrazo Homes! The company ranked number one as New Mexico’s top small workplace in this year’s Top Workplaces survey, conducted by Albuquerque Journal’s partner organization, Energage.
The survey collected responses on workplace quality and culture from a record number of New Mexico employers – 80 in all – from December through early March of 2020. Abrazo Homes took the top spot in the small workplace category.
“Abrazo lets me do what I am good at and helps me keep evolving as a person both professionally and personally,” one employee wrote in the survey. “The owners and my coworkers care about me as a person. I feel important and part of the big picture and contribute to the company’s overall growth and success. This makes me want to work hard as I know what I do makes a difference.”
Employees said they felt company leaders were invested in their futures and their families.
“As much as Abrazo Homes’ purpose is to build beautiful new homes, it is also just as driven to provide an incredible work environment for its employees who put their trust in a company that they can stand behind and for,” Abrazo leaders wrote.
The company offers extensive benefits to employees, including medical, dental and vision insurance, matching retirement contributions and unlimited paid time off and currently employees 36 people.
Started in a trailer in 2010, Abrazo Homes has built homes in 21 subdivisions across Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Los Lunas and the East Mountains. Their latest community, Mariposa, is located just north of Albuquerque, surrounded by thousands of acres of preserved and protected lands and a LEED-certified community center.
Company leaders said Abrazo started as a dream to build homes the right way and to provide the best customer experience possible.
“Abrazo Homes has a company culture of we work to live, not live to work, so a work/life balance is very important in the company,” leaders wrote.
