The beauty of fall in New Mexico surrounds us as bright orange and red leaves change color, temperatures drop and shorts are exchanged for cozy sweathers. The cooler season is the perfect time to venture out with family and friends to charming local pumpkin patches and fall festivals in and around Rio Rancho and Albuquerque. Here’s a list of several events near Mariposa perfect for all ages looking to enjoy a little New Mexico fall magic.

 

Galloping Goat Pumpkin Patch

Galloping Goat Pumpkin Patch has been a community staple for years. Come make memories while experiencing a large corn pit, petting zoo, corn hole, duck races and mini golf. For the adults, paintball is available on the weekends for an extra charge. Before you leave be sure to pick out the perfect pumpkin in the patch!

 Wagner’s Farmland Experience

 Located on the North side of the beautiful countryside of Corrales. This is the prime location to enjoy a day with the family at the farm. Explore through the pumpkin patch and pick the one that is just right. Take a hayride, pet adorable animals at the petting zoo, and find your way through the corn maze and play areas. Corrales Harvest Festival

 Corrales has been holding their harvest festival for 34 years and there are no plans to end this exciting event anytime soon. The main event of the weekend is the arts and crafts show featuring local artists and makers. Other activities include tractor-pulled hayrides, food trucks, live music and a Hootenanny (live music and dancing). Bring the whole family out for two days of fun!

Maize Maze and Farmstrong Festival

 Find your way through the eight-acre corn maze and then explore the interactive art displays, giant yard games and live music. Later during your visit, venture out into the pumpkin patch. Once you’ve picked your pumpkin you can take it home or you can sit down and paint a festive design on it.

McCall Pumpkin Patch

 If you’re looking for the full farm and pumpkin patch experience, McCall’s is the place to go. Experience a themed corn maze, hayrides, pedal tractor races, jumping pillows and a singing chicken show. One of their main attractions is their pumpkin cannon and this year they are also adding Apple Cannons.

Dates: Saturday and Sundays between September 21 and October 27
